Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet! I’m Meg (not short for anything), and I am a creative nonfiction writer and poet, specializing in memoir. I have an MFA in creative nonfiction from Columbia College Chicago, and I attended the Kenyon Review Summer Workshop in 2022. I believe writing is a critical tool for creating justice in this world, often beginning with our own lives. My goal is to offer the skills, wisdom & experience I have to others—this is how we spread love and beat the gatekeepers. When I’m not writing, reading, or teaching, I’m imagining a better future for my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, or exploring Austin with my partner and our two shepherds.
